You are so funny! Here's the thing. I think you mudroom has great bones already. Do love that black and white checkerboard floor. If you do it, promise you'll but it on the diagonal -- I had that in the kitchen once not on the diagonal and it drove me insane!
What did you decide to do about the light fixture?
Exactly, the plan is to install it on the diagonal. As for the light fixture, I'd like to try one of those vintagey Eddison bulbs. I'll keep you posted!

Totally achievable! I have always loved the idea of checkerboard tiles in the entrance hall - so glam! Can't wait to see the pics!
