Hallway Inspiration

I've been procuring images of hallways and stairwell since we moved to Hazard Ave. My collection has become rather random, but I can assure you that it all makes perfect sense in my head.

I would like my new foyer/hallway/stairway to have...

Large scale art that will cover a lot of wall space
tumbler
White spindles and a dark stained railing
jentrified
White. Bright white!
House and Home
A leopard runner
CWB Architects
Paneled picture molding
Hooked on Houses

A statement mirror...
Style at Home
Contrasting dark stair treads to my lighter stained floors.
Stone House Inn
I hope that mixing all these random ideas into one space will result in something awesome.
And not awesomely random.

I'm sure you will nail this just like you have done with the rest of the house. It's going to be so pretty!

1,3 and 6 are my favourite ones - I love, love, love Suzanne Dimma's white entry. While my low 8 foot ceilings won't allow for any of your chosen prettiness, I'm sure your entry will look stunning.

Hi Carrie! I love all of these ideas, especially the large scale mirror or artwork.

Okay, kinda random, but I know you live in CT like me. Young House Love is doing a book signing and meet and greet at the Wilton public library on November 2nd. I signed up on the library's website. If you go, we can have a blogger meetup! Let me know what you think...

I love your plans and the black rails and treads with white. You'll make it happen! Love your black front storm door, by now maybe the front door is painted! Can't wait to see!

Isn't it fun to pull together inspiration like that? I find it's so helpful to get me to narrow down the characteristics of what I want. That first shot is one of my all time faves! I have done a few posts on hallways and foyers - let me know if you missed them if you'd like more ideas but it looks like you have great ideas already!

I think you are on the right track - and a great one at that! I love the oversized artwork idea as well as the mirror and the darker treads against a lighter flow is a marvellous way to mix things up.
